Preface
Against the trend of differentiated development in apparel industry, uniform off-the-shelf fabrics can hardly match brands’ exclusive styling, application scenarios and quality specifications. To tackle common R&D and production difficulties including improper elasticity, stiff handfeel, excessive shrinkage and mismatched functionality, our company has focused on R&D and production of Custom fabrics-woven stretch for years.
Supported by mature production technologies, complete raw material reserves and flexible process control, we build up two flexible customization systems: full original development from scratch & upgrading based on existing mature fabrics. Custom woven stretch fabrics are developed one-on-one to fit varied product positioning, order quantities and development cycles for global clients.
Our comprehensive raw material portfolio consists of four staple fibers: cotton, polyester, nylon (polyamide) and spandex. Extra fibers like Tencel, wool and cupro are available upon custom consultation. We also stock functional yarns including moisture-wicking quick-dry yarn, anti-UV yarn, high-tenacity N66 yarn and conductive anti-static yarn. Through scientific fiber blending, weaving structure optimization, refined dyeing & finishing and functional treatment, our Custom fabrics serve upscale fashion, business wear, outdoor apparel and high-performance workwear precisely.

Part 1. Full Custom Fabrics Development from Scratch | Develop Exclusive Original Woven Stretch Fabrics
Applicable for clients with professional textile knowledge and unique fabric design requirements
Overview
Full R&D customization represents our core competitive advantage for high-end fabric development. Different from simple modification of existing cloth, this solution centers on clients’ garment positioning, application scenarios, quality standards and international compliance requirements. We participate in the whole development chain ranging from raw material selection, proportion formulation and customized weaving structure to dyeing, setting and functional finishing. Original fabrics with exclusive texture, targeted elasticity and scenario-specific functions are tailor-made to help brands stand out from homogeneous market competition.
1. Targeted Demand Confirmation to Define Core Fabric Properties
At the early development stage, we specify core fabric parameters and performance based on end-use, target consumers and wearing scenarios:
- Business apparel: skin-friendly, wrinkle-resistant, low shrinkage and drapable;
- Outdoor apparel: high stretch, wear-resistant, moisture-wicking and permanent anti-UV;
- Industrial workwear: high tensile strength, dimensionally stable and anti-static for heavy-duty use;
- Luxury fashion: distinctive texture, silky luster and comfortable stretch.
Meanwhile, we implement international certification standards such as OEKO-TEX and GRS in advance to avoid quality defects and export compliance risks from the source.
2. Scientific Fiber Blending to Build Fundamental Fabric Performance
Fiber composition determines hand feel, elasticity, breathability, durability and application scope of finished fabrics. We realize optimized overall performance via flexible blending of four base fibers plus multi-type functional filament yarns:
- Cotton: Outstanding natural softness and moisture absorption, ideal for skin-contact clothing. Blended with proper spandex, polyester or nylon, cotton-based fabrics overcome inherent drawbacks of easy wrinkling, high shrinkage and zero elasticity for premium stretch shirts and casual daily wear.
- Polyester: Excellent dimensional stability, wrinkle-proof property and cost efficiency, yet stiff and airtight in 100% pure form. Mixed with cotton or nylon, polyester gains improved softness and breathability while retaining wear-resistant and easy-care merits for outerwear and uniforms.
- Nylon (Polyamide): Top-tier abrasion resistance among regular textile fibers with smooth touch and superior elastic recovery for lightweight outdoor stretch jackets. Compound spinning effectively enhances fabric tear resistance and permanent rebound without sagging after long-term wear.
- Spandex: Core elastic component of woven stretch goods. We adjust spandex proportion from 2% to 8% to produce low, medium and high stretch variants: low elasticity for tailored business suits with unrestricted comfort; high elasticity for fitted sportswear featuring robust stretch and stable recovery.
- Functional filament yarns: Moisture-wicking quick-dry and anti-UV filaments are incorporated into grey fabric during weaving instead of post-coating treatment, delivering durable wash-resistant functions such as rapid sweat drainage and UPF50+ ultraviolet protection suitable for hiking, sun-proof daily outfits and heavy-duty working garments.

3. Custom Weave Structure Design to Realize Unique Texture & Physical Properties
After fiber proportion is finalized, weave construction is customized according to garment styling to control fabric weight, thickness, stiffness, air permeability, surface texture and abrasion resistance. We support full-range woven structures including plain, twill, satin, basket weave and jacquard:
- Plain weave: Compact, durable and widely used for lightweight stretch shirts and thin workwear; high-count high-density processing brings fine premium surface;
- Twill weave: Distinct grain, fluffy softness and superior draping for casual coats and autumn/winter workwear;
- Satin weave: Long floating yarn delivers glossy silky surface for high-end luxury fashion with elegant draping effect;
- Jacquard & modified weaves: Concave-convex exclusive texture creates differentiated appearance to develop market-exclusive hit fabrics.
Customization covers yarn count, warp & weft density, finished weight and fabric width to fix stiffness and draping, solving common industry defects like limp fabric, rigid texture and uneven elasticity for better garment forming performance.
4. Custom Fabrics Precise Dyeing & Finishing to Balance Appearance & Stable Quality
Refined finishing is critical to control shrinkage, color fastness and hand feel for stretch fabrics which are prone to weft shrinkage, deformation and irregular elasticity. Our exclusive finishing workflow includes alkaline washing, cold-batch desizing, pre-setting, selvedge binding, targeted dyeing, re-setting and pre-shrinking:
- High-temperature pre-setting locks yarn arrangement to eliminate uneven elasticity and surface crease in bulk production;
- Mercerization for cotton stretch fabrics upgrades luster, smoothness, color fastness and dimensional stability;
- Strict pre-shrinking limits residual shrinkage within national and international export standards to prevent post-wash garment deformation;
- Targeted dye recipes: reactive dye for cotton, disperse dye for polyester and acid dye for nylon with supplementary color fixation to achieve excellent wash fastness, avoiding fading for dark shades and yellowing for pale hues after repeated washing.
5. Custom Fabrics Functional Post-finishing to Realize Application-Oriented Value
On the basis of inherent functions from functional core yarns, extra customized post-treatments are available to realize multi-functional fabrics, including PFAS-free water/oil/stain repellent, anti-static, wrinkle-free, peach skin softening and moisture-permeable finishing:
- Outdoor fabrics: Dual protection of built-in anti-UV yarn plus functional coating for enhanced sun protection and waterproof & stain-resistant capacity;
- Sportswear: Optimized moisture transfer finishing for continuous dry-wearing comfort;
- Business shirts: Wrinkle-free finishing for no-iron easy daily maintenance;
- Special workwear: Anti-static treatment to guarantee wearing safety under harsh working conditions.
All functional finishes go through wash durability curing processing with eco-friendly formulation free of hazardous residues.

Part 2. Existing Fabric Upgrading Customization | Cost-Effective Fabric Renovation Based on Mature Grey Goods
Overview
This upgrade solution targets clients with tight development schedules and controlled budget who do not need full new fabric development. Based on our abundant stock of mature woven stretch grey fabrics, we upgrade existing materials from four dimensions: adding new yarn components, adjusting weave structure & fabric weight and adding functional finishing. No new weaving mold opening is required to shorten sampling cycle and lower minimum order cost, the optimal choice for seasonal new launch, small-batch revision and product iteration.
1. Supplement Extra Spun Yarns to Improve Basic Fabric Performance
We add spandex, nylon, polyester, cotton or functional filaments into original fabric composition for targeted performance improvement: raise spandex percentage for better stretch recovery; blend nylon to soften touch and boost tear resistance; embed moisture-wicking yarn to reduce stuffiness; add anti-UV filament to realize permanent sun-proof property. Accurate blending and interweaving guarantee homogeneous component distribution without partial elasticity failure, surface spots or defective functions.
2. Modify Weave & Grammage to Reshape Fabric Hand & Silhouette
Custom Fabrics By adjusting warp/weft density, weaving tension and yarn matching, we flexibly revise fabric weight, thickness and stiffness: increase density and grammage for stiffer shaping if original cloth is thin and floppy; optimize weave layout to cut weight for breathable lightweight wear when raw fabric is too bulky. Fine-tune grain texture and surface smoothness to match diverse apparel design at low modification expense.
3. Add New Functional Finishing for Rapid Property Upgrade
Functional post-treatment is the most efficient upgrade method without any modification on weaving or raw material. Conventional fabrics can be upgraded into high-performance stretch goods via single or combined finishing: moisture management, reinforced anti-UV, PFAS-free three-proof, anti-static, sanding, wrinkle-free and antibacterial deodorization treatments. Short lead time, low sampling cost and stable bulk quality help clients develop differentiated items quickly to seize market opportunities.
